Recommended K-Variety for 2011 (until May)

Korea has many variety shows that makes a lot of people laugh. And here are some recommended variety show from some broadcasting station from South Korea that I usually watch till now.

1. Running Man (SBS)

Running Man (Korean: 런닝맨) is a South Korean variety show; a part of SBS‘s Good Sunday lineup, along with Kim Yeon-ah’s Kiss and Cry (김연아의 키스 앤 크라이). It was first aired on July 11, 2010. This show is classified as an “urban action variety”; a never-before-seen new genre of variety shows and will greatly involve the participation of viewers. The MCs and guests are locked in a landmark during closed hours and are required to leave before opening hours. The first team to leave will win, while the losing team will be punished in the landmark. It has garnered attention as being the come-back program for Yu Jae-suk, the main MC of the program, after leaving Good Sunday’s Family Outing in February 2010.

2. Heroes (SBS)

Heroes (Korean: 영웅호걸; Hanja: 英雄豪傑) is a girl-group variety show that first aired on July 18, 2010, replacing Gold Miss is Coming. It is classified as a “popularity search variety”, where the female celebrities compete to find out which of them is more popular among citizens. The show will end on May 1, 2011 due to low ratings and will be replaced by Kiss & Cry.

3. Oh! My School (KBS 2)

Let “Oh! my school” educate celebrities to build upright characters! The world of entertainment is full of happenings and events. “Oh! my school” is the new guide for the celebrities! This program illustrates troublesome stars’ bittersweet school life! Meet our stars who compete to be the best entertainer of the show!

Join celebrities as they go back to school to refresh and relearn valuable lessons that they may have forgotten on entering the world of entertaiment

4. Strong Heart (SBS)

Strong Heart (Korean: 강심장) is a Korean talk show or talk battle broadcasted by SBS. Strong Heart airs from Tuesday, 11:50 pm to Wednesday, 12:30 am. About twenty star guests from Korea tell strong stories that make people cry or laugh. The best storyteller wins the show. Lee Seung Gi and Kang Ho Dong host the show. The producers are Park Sang Hyuk, Park Kyung Duck, Jung Eek Sung. Also, the writers are Kim Youn Young and Kim Jee Youn. Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, Shindong and Eunhyuk come every episode for the Teuk Academy Teukigayo. Comedians Jung Ju Ri and Kim Young Chul appear frequently on the show.

And finally this variety is ended actually because of some members resigned from this show but I still can feel the funny thing in this show. Here is…

5. Invincible Youth (KBS 2)

Invincible Youth (Korean: 청춘불패; romanized: cheong-chun-bul-pae) is a South Korean variety show that features 7 girls from top K-Pop idol groups wherein they experience how it is to live and survive in the rural Korea outdoors. The 7 Girls include Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls, Han Sunhwa of Secret, Hyuna of 4minute, Hyomin of T-ara, Sunny and Kwon Yuri of Girls’ Generation, and Goo Hara of Kara.
